Congratulations on your forthcoming wedding, Nikah, and we are pleased that you seek an Islamic marriage (Nikah) here at Hira Masjid and Community Centre.
Firstly this is a day of celebration. This first of all involves having your friends and family around you to participate in this joyous occasion. Most importantly though this is an opportunity to give thanks to Allah for the gift of Love he has put in everyone’s hearts and helps you completing your other half of your dean.
The only requirement for Muslim weddings, nikah, is the signing of a marriage contract which includes a ‘Mahr’. The mahr is a gift given to the bride. Marriage traditions differ depending on culture, Islamic sect, and observance of gender separation rules.
At Hira Masjid and Community Centre, we understand that marriages are works in progress. It doesn’t start and stop on that one day. This understanding is what also guides us at Hira Masjid and Community Centre in always being ready to listen to your anxieties and problems, and to share in your happiness. In short, we shall help you to realise the Islamic ideal of life-long marriage.
